Upon arrival at Zanzibar International Airport, your private driver will greet you and transfer you along the scenic eastern coastline toward Jambiani, a serene fishing village known for its authentic Swahili charm and palm-lined beaches (approx. 1.5 hours). After check-in, you can relax at your beachfront lodge, enjoy a swim in the turquoise waters, or take a peaceful sunset walk along the beach. Dinner can be arranged at the resort or nearby restaurant offering ocean views.
After an early breakfast, you will head to the nearby village of Kizimkazi for a guided dolphin tour (morning hours are best). You may have the opportunity to swim near wild bottlenose or humpback dolphins in their natural habitat. Return to Jambiani and enjoy a local village tour led by a community guide. Visit seaweed farms, women’s cooperatives, and local schools. You’ll participate in a Swahili cooking class, where you will learn to prepare traditional dishes and enjoy your creations for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure for beach relaxation.
Today is at leisure to enjoy the natural beauty of Jambiani. Optional excursions include a dhow sailing trip, a snorkeling excursion to nearby reefs, or a massage/spa treatment at the resort. In the late afternoon, we recommend a sunset dhow cruise with Swahili tea and snacks aboard, drifting peacefully along the coast. Dinner on this final night can be arranged at The Loop or Bahari Pizza—both known for their beachside ambiance and local seafood. Accommodation: Blue Oyster Hotel or similar. Meals: Breakfast.
