Upon morning arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)with morning flight you will be welcomed by your private driver-guide and driven to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2 hrs drive). Tarangire is known for its majestic baobab trees, rolling savannah, and large herds of elephants. The park is home to over 550 bird species and a rich diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, and more. The Tarangire River acts as a vital water source, attracting animals year-round, especially during the dry season (June–October).
After breakfast, your journey continues through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with scenic views and wildlife sightings en route. Enter Serengeti National Park via Naabi Hill Gate, the symbolic gateway into endless savannahs. The Serengeti is globally renowned for its vast plains, predator-prey dynamics, and annual Great Wildebeest Migration (depending on season). The Central region, known as Seronera, offers year-round excellent game viewing, particularly of big cats and resident herbivores.
After an early breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive in the Serengeti. The area offers spectacular opportunities to spot lions, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, hippos, and more. Depending on the season, you may witness a river crossing or predator hunts. The Central Serengeti is known for its kopjes (rocky outcrops), which serve as natural observation towers for predators and ideal photo backdrops.
Early breakfast followed by a scenic drive toward Ngorongoro Crater. Descend 600 meters into the caldera for a half-day game drive. Often referred to as “Africa’s Eden,” the crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s largest intact volcanic calderas. The 260 km² floor is teeming with wildlife: black rhino, lions, elephants, buffalo, flamingos, and more. After a bush picnic, ascend the crater and proceed to Karatu for overnight.
After breakfast at your lodge in Karatu, begin your journey back toward Arusha. The drive takes you through the Ngorongoro Highlands, past local farms and villages. Upon arrival in Arusha, enjoy lunch at the elegant Arusha Coffee Lodge, a serene plantation-style retreat.
