Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our professional driver-guide who will warmly welcome you to Tanzania. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Arusha; a vibrant town nestled at the foot of Mount Meru. If your arrival is earlier in the day, you may enjoy a short city tour or simply relax at the lodge and recover from your international flight. Your overnight stay will be at Arusha Planet Lodge, a comfortable property offering spacious chalets and a peaceful garden setting. Dinner will be served at the lodge.
After breakfast, your safari begins with a scenic drive from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, located along the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. This charming park is known for its stunning landscapes, lush groundwater forest, and diverse wildlife. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive with chances to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and the famous tree-climbing lions. Along the lake’s edge, flamingos and other bird species add vibrant color to the scenery. Later in the afternoon, you will drive to the highland’s town of Karatu, where you will check in to Marera Valley Lodge for a comfortable evening in the cool upland climate.
After an early breakfast, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend 600 meters into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. Often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the crater is home to nearly every species of African wildlife including elephants, lions, black rhinos, buffalo, zebras, and hippos, as well as a rich variety of birds. You will enjoy a full-day game drive on the crater floor with a picnic lunch near the hippo pool. Later in the afternoon, you will ascend from the crater and return to Karatu for a second night at Marera Valley Lodge, where you can enjoy a warm meal and reflect on your incredible day.
Today you depart Karatu and head towards the Serengeti National Park, driving through the picturesque Ngorongoro highlands. En route, you may choose to visit a traditional Maasai village for a cultural experience. Upon entering the Serengeti via Naabi Hill Gate, you will enjoy a game drive en route to your camp. Serengeti, meaning “Endless Plains” in the Maasai language, is renowned for its expansive grasslands and dramatic wildlife sightings. You will arrive at Tanzania Bush Camp in the Central Serengeti in time to relax before dinner under the stars.
Today is dedicated to a full-day game drive across the Serengeti. You will explore various areas of the park depending on the season and wildlife movements. This region offers spectacular sightings of large predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, and countless antelope species. If you’re visiting during the Great Migration season, you may witness thousands of wildebeests and zebras on the move. You will return to your camp in the late afternoon for dinner and a relaxing evening in the wild.
After an early morning game drive and breakfast in the Serengeti, you will begin your journey back towards the Ngorongoro highlands and on to the Rift Valley escarpment. Your destination today is Kirurumu Manyara Lodge, perched beautifully on the edge of the Great Rift Valley with sweeping views over Lake Manyara and its surrounding wilderness. You will arrive in the afternoon and have time to relax or take a guided nature walk offered by the lodge (optional). This is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy your last evening on safari.
After breakfast, you will depart Kirurumu Manyara and drive back to Arusha.
